AgScape and Ontario Pork Launch Pig Farming Guide for Classrooms

AGScape, alongside Ontario Pork is launching their latest in classroom educational resource, a Teachers Guide for Grades 5-10.

The 68 page resource, revolving around pig farming provides unique lessons for grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10.

Various topics around pig farmer in the guide include the History of Pig Farming, Pig Production and Terminology, Pig Farming and the Canadian economy, Human Nutrition and Health, Pig Farming and the Environment and many more topics which will help students be more informed food citizens.

Stacey Ash, Manager of Communications and Consumer Marketing at Ontario Pork says its important to understand the importance of levels of agriculture as disconnect can allow misinformation to take root and cause people to question the quality and value of food businesses which one may not fully understand.

With the school year in just a few weeks, AgScape is looking forward to being able to share this resource with both teachers and students to learn more about agriculture across the province.
