The Federal Government announced today additional details in regards to their affordable housing strategy.
The program, with an initial investment of over 1 billion dollars will be funded through 2 funding streams; major cities and program specific.
The major cities in Ontario initially getting funding for housing are London, Waterloo, Hamilton, Peel, Ottawa and Toronto.
The program stream is open to indigenous communities, not-for-profit organizations, other municipalities, provinces and territories. Approvals for housing projects are expected to be completed within 30 days of application.
