There is an action plan being developed to help local Minto area non-profit groups recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The announcement was made at the January 5th Minto council meeting by Economic Development manger Belinda Wick-Graham. She also announced that 19 local non-profit organizations had completed a survey outlining the impac that Covid-19 has had on their sector.
The results outlined from the survey include:
- majority of respondents saw a decrease in revenue with a varying amount lost per non-profit
- that most indicated that the Covid-19 pandemic had someone decreased their costs to operate
- that most were not adding new income strategies between the time of responding and June of this year
- most appreciate the amount of support the Town of Minto is providing in terms of promotions
- the events planned by the non-profits had decreased significantly since the start of the pandemic
She added that the Cultural Roundtable would begin assembling an action plan to help local groups based on the information collected in the survey.
