Wellington County and the Wellington County Library Board is celebrating the opening of the new Erin Village branch.
The library was designed by award winning architectural firm +VG Architects and built by Demikon Construction Ltd.
Features of the library includes original stonework from the 1849 McMillan Grist Mill, carefully restored and integrated with industrial-inspired design, historic mill stones placed by the main entrance, alongside artifacts and archival photographs on display inside and larger, accessible, versatile spaces for children and adults, with designated floors for each.
Warden Chris White says the new branch is everything our library system strives to be, accessible, innovative and deeply connected to the community.
