A celebration of life for 10 year old Taleya Paris took place at the Lockheart Funeral Home Reception Centre in Mitchell on March 26th.

Earlier in the week, the memorial of stuffed animals were respectfully taken down from the Wellington Bridge as well as the St David Street Bridge and were dried out on a heated floor at the West Perth Fire Station.

The stuffed animals were both brought to the memorial or donated to causes.

West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie says the support seen locally continues to pour in.

“It’s been I guess to say the least, a historic event… certainly appreciate all the support that we got.” said McKenzie.

The search for Taleya included various fire departments from North Perth, Perth East, Huron East, South Huron.
