Mapleton township is pushing the province in efforts for licensed childcare funding.
Officials are inviting residents to join in to have better options locally for child care.
Mayor Gregg Davidson writing in a letter saying Mapleton is a desert when it comes to licensed child care despite having the second youngest population of children under 6 in Wellington County.
Currently public schools in Drayton and Moorefield require their space for future growth and cannot support a child care centre.
Residents who wish to join the township can submit letters and drop them off at the PMD Arena of township office by February 25th.
