Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliot says the province will be ready to administer COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 5-11 years as soon as Health Canada gives the green light.
Elliot says the vaccination plans will differ between the provinces local health units but it’s likely schools will play a major role.
While speaking in Ottawa on Tuesday, Premier Doug Ford says he wants everyone to be vaccinated but understands if parents may not wish to have their kids get a shot.
