Stratford City Council will discuss the proposed Xinyi Canada Glass plant this afternoon in a virtual meeting.
The Council deferred a decision on the plant during last week’s meeting after many residents raised questions on the cost sharing agreement between the city and glass company. The resulting answers from those questions is expected to be presented today but a vote isn’t planned during the meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 3 o’clock today.
The plant which is expected to bring 300 jobs to the city and generate 4.5 million dollars of tax revenue per year. 24 percent would go to the Township of Perth South.
