With the help of the Belwood Lions Club and the annual Pike Derby being able to raise $9000, a new blanket warmer has been purchased for the Groves Memorial Hospital’s Oncology unit.
The hospital says the equipment used for the unit is for storing and warming blankets to provide comfort for patients receiving medical day services and chemotherapy.
Last year the hospital saw 838 medical day care patient visits.
The Belwood Lions have been able to raise over $50,000 for Groves Hospital over the years.
