As part of their efforts of the Canada Day safety campaign, Perth County OPP laid a total of 267 charges which ran from June 26th-July 5th.
OPP across the West Region used that week to promote the importance of lifesaving equipment such as seat belts, helmets and personal flotation devices as well as discouraging unsafe driving behaviours such as speeding, distracted and impaired driving.
Perth County OPP campaign charges included;
· 5 charges for Impaired Driving
· 4 charges for Stunt/Racing
· 114 charges for Speeding
· 25 charges for Failure to Wear Seatbelt
· 1 charge for Distracted Driving
· 104 charges for other Provincial Traffic offences
