22 Firefighters on Scene in Rescue at Elora Gorge

Rope rescue used to save tuber caught between rocks

Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue were called out to the Elora Gorge on Monday after a tuber’s foot was caught between rocks.

Firefighters were called around 4:15pm on August 2nd which involved 22 firefighters and the use a rope rescue.

The woman who was tubing had stepped off in a shallow area when their foot was caught between rocks, the current kept pushing her resulting in a suspected leg fracture.

The woman was transported to Groves Memorial Hospital and was conscious.

The woman was wearing a life jacket and nothing is being considered out of the ordinary or negligent which would have resulted in this incident.
