20-25 Hours Lost at Minto Arena’s for Ice Time Booking

Of the around 100 hours, 20-25 hours has been lost

Impacts have been seen in ice time bookings in Minto arenas since the province wide vaccine policy has taken effect according to Minto’s recreation services manager.

Matt Lubbers spoke during a recent meeting saying staff is still finalizing everything for the season but around 20-25 hours of ice time of the almost 100 hours has been lost for the season.

Minto Minor Hockey, Harriston Skating Club, Clifford Skating Club, Palmerston Junior Broomball and the Minto 81’s are among those who have ice time booked.

Despite the drop, Lubbers believes he doesn’t anticipate ice time to shrink to the point where the town can only operate with one arena.
