Brantford Police Services have announced that through a joint investigation with the OPP and the RCMP they are arrested 2 individuals in connection with a theft of Wayne Gretzky sports memorabilia.
In August of this year members of the Gretzky family contacted police afte rdiscovering various pieces of Wayne Gretzky memorabilia missing from the residence of Wayne’s father Walter in Brantford.
A 3 month investigation has resulted in search warrants at 5 homes across Ontario and Alberta.
Stolen items include game used sticks, gloves, pants, jerseys and a player of the year award.
Charged are 2 58 year olds one from Oakville and one from Brockville.
The investigation is ongoing.
