17 Year Old Arrested in December Vehicle Break Ins

Police have arrested and laid charges against a string of vehicle break ins around the Fergus area dating back to December.

OPP say on December 9th 2022, two vehicles were broken into with credit cards and personal identification being taken.

One of the credit cards was later used to make a purchase at a business in Guelph.

With the help of surveillance footage, a person of interest and suspect vehicle were located and an arrest was able to be made.

A 17 year old from Kitchener faces a slew of charges including Theft Under $5000, Theft of a Credit Card, Use of Credit Card and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

The accused will appear in Guelph court at a later date.
