Huron Perth Public Health held a media update today to provide the latest in local Covid-19 numbers. There are 15 new cases of Covid-19 active in the area.

Cedarcroft Retirement Home in Stratford has unfortunately had another resident pass away. This brings the total to 12.

Active cases at the facility are 2 residents and 4 staff .

The closure at Northside Christian School has been extended until December 11th.

There are confirmed cases in Goderich at GDCI and Anne Hathaway Elementary School in Stratford. Each school has 1 confirmed case.

There are 4 cases confirmed at St. Marys Catholic School here in Listowel. 3 cohorts have been dismissed.

In terms of the workplace one area of transmission that Health Units are noticing in contract tracing is with workers before and at break. Medical Officer of Health Miriam Klassen says that although workplace measures are in place it’s these other times that are causing the spread.

“With workplace outbreaks the common theme across the province is that often times the workplace measures are in place and are effective. People are taking off their masks and getting together during their breaks and carpooling. This is where the transmission is occurring.”
