OPP across the West Region laid a total of 143 charges across their detachments over the course of Operation Safe Driver.
The campaign run annually is designed to improve traffic safety for commercial motor vehicle operators and passenger vehicles.
Over July 12th-18th West Region OPP say factors in CMV crashes such as speeding, improper lane changes and following too closely were the leading contributors to collisions.
Among the 143 charges includes 30 CMV Inspection and Maintenance, 25 CMV Permits, Plates, Drivers Licence and 18 CMV Disobeying a Sign.
