Perth County OPP is currently investigating after a report of a suspicious person asking a youth to go with them in a vehicle in Listowel.
Police received a report of the incident that occurred around 2:45pm on May 4th on Inkerman Street East.
A 14 year old was waiting for a ride when an unfamiliar vehicle, thought to be either a white 2015 to 2020 Nissan Pathfinder or same age white Infinity QX series vehicle, pulled up and asked the youth for directions.
The youth gave the suspect the directions from their cellphone but was then asked multiple times to get in the vehicle to assist. The youth wisely declined.
The suspect is described with brown skin, possibly in their 30’s, 6 feet tall with an average build.
