Wellington County OPP have charged a youth after misleading police.
On January 2nd, OPP responded to an address in Centre Wellington after reports of a youth receiving threatening messages over Instagram.
The youth claimed the messages were coming from someone known to them.
After investigation which spanned several months, police determined the messages were being sent to themselves, misleading officers who were conducting the investigation.
As a result a 16 year old youth of Centre Wellington has been charged with Public Mischief and given a future court date in Guelph.
