Last fall, the Avon Maitland District School Board launched a Workforce Census and invited all employees to take part.
An overall response rate of 75% was achieved for all AMDSB staff, one of the highest of participation of any district school board in Ontario.
Of the results, nearly 80 per cent of staff are female which is seen as common across school boards.
Over 50 per cent had identified as Christian with 36 per cent saying they were not religious.
90 per cent had listed English as their first language.
The school board will use the results of the census to develop plans and strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
