With the news of the cancellation of the Women’s Under 18 Hockey Championship set for Sweden still fresh in our minds, women’s hockey is set to get a boost next month with the release of the next series in Tim Hortons trading cards collection.
The Team Canada trading cards featuring past and present Hockey Canada heroes will also include a section of world-class players from Canada’s National Women’s Team including Melodie Daoust, Brianne Jenner, Rebecca Johnston, Sarah Nurse and Natalie Spooner.
The cards will be available starting January 5th and will even get a tv commercial featuring Sarah Nurse and Nathan Mackinnon.
Multiple interested parties are in discussions with the IIHF in hopes that the Under-18 event that had been set for next month can be rescheduled and not cancelled.
