The Wingham & District Hospital Emergency Department is set to close for over 3 days due to staffing shortages.
The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance announced that it would close at 5pm on Thursday, August 3rd and re-open on Sunday, August 6th at 7pm.
LWHA says they understand how disappointing the extended closure is on the community as well as to their staff & physicians.
Their staffing situation is expected to improve through August which will reduce the risk of closure.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency.
EMS will remain available to the community and re-route them to surrounding hospitals.
