A first time children’s author out of Wingham has had her book published and has become a useful resource locally.
Deborah Dickson who wrote Always Kiss Me Goodnight shares her own journey of losing a loved one who at 19 years old lost her mother.
The book has become a tool to help kids deal with loss and has been a resource at hospitals, hospices, funeral homes and more.
Dickson says writing all began for her at the encouragement of a friend.
“My publisher encouraged me to start off with some good memories of course and what we did as a family. Then lead into my mom getting sick and passing away. It was a very tragic thing since it was so sudden and so my book focuses on the emotions of children as seen through my own eyes as a young person having lost her with three brothers.” said Dickson.
Illustrations in the book have all been made by Dicksons grandson, Ronan.
The book is available for purchase.
