As many more turn to local food banks for help, North Perth Westfield Elementary School is hoping to do their part in collect goods to share with the food banks across the community.
With almost 500 individuals accessing the Salvation Army Food Bank in May, the shelves are remaining low and in need for help.
For the rest of the month, Westfield is holding a food drive with the items most in need including canned food, kids lunch items, baking items and personal hygiene products.
Those who can help, are encouraged to donate.
