OPP across the West Region laid hundreds of seat belt charges over a long weekend campaign.
Running from April 18th-21st, West Region officers laid a total of 338 seat belt related charges under Ontario’s seat belt laws.
OPP say failure to wear a seat belt caused or was a contributing factor to 60 deaths in crashes across OPP patrolled roads last year, 26 of which were in the West Region.
OPP will continue to enforce the seat belt law in an effort to reduce the number of needless and preventable deaths in Southwestern Ontario.
