The Municipality of West Perth shared a local Eco Hero story today all about Evelyn Newman.
Evelyn created the West Perth Pollinator Plot 2 years ago through the Environment Forestry and Trails Committee. The plot is located in what was unused space next to the wetlands.
Newman along with Bert Vorstenbosch Sr. tilled, prepared and planted two plots of dense native pollinator species in the garden.
Pollinator gardens support & foster pollinators by supplying the pollen and nectar that ensure these animals stay in the area. They then pollinate crops for continued fruit and vegetable harvests.
