Wellington County OPP Staff Sergeant Bruce Aitken is calling it a career after serving for over 33 years.
Aitken who grew up north of Mount Forest on a farm raising cattle, pigs and chickens when in 1988 at 21 years old going the Mount Forest Town Police. Aitken became a member of the OPP when the town police disbanded in favour of contracting police services with the provincial police.
Aitken did a lot of detective work up to 2017 when he took an administrative role as staff sergeant with Wellington OPP. Aitkens official day of retirement will be July 31st.
Aitken will be taking a new role with the Wilfrid Laurier University special constable service.
