The number of collisions Wellington County OPP has responded to continues to rise dramatically.
Over the past 6 weeks alone, 5 fatal motor vehicle collisions have occurred on Wellington County roads.
Wellington OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Steve Thomas says some the best ways to do your part in avoiding collisions is just the basics.
“I urge everyone to operate their vehicles in a safe manner. Wear your seatbelts, follow the posted speed limits, make sure your full and undivided attention is on the roadway and do not get behind the wheel if you are impaired by alcohol or drugs” said Thomas.
Thomas adds OPP will continue with enforcement and proactive patrols looking for anyone who is not following the rules of the road and driving dangerously.
