Wellington North is pausing any decisions on having cannabis shops for at least a year.
The township will not be taking any new applications until Fall of 2022.
Council passed an interim control bylaw which prohibits the establishment of new commercial and medical cannabis production facilities.
Staff will use this time to study of new rules and regulate where and how operations can be set up.
The bylaw does not effect the current cannabis facilities in the township, and personal recreational use as permitted by the federal Cannabis Act is still allowed.
