Wellington North is looking to address issues at the Arthur and Area Community Centre roof before issues get worse.
While officials say there isn’t believed to be a safety risk for the roofs condition, it has fallen to a poor state since a report dating back to 2019.
Staff add the condition of the roof is causing some to be uncomfortable.
The capital budget for this year doesn’t provide enough money for the roof to be addressed but a report from Interim CAO and Operations Director Matthew Aston says council should focus on the roof and approve $350,000 in finances to address it.
Council will return to the discussion next week.
