An early look at the tax levy in Wellington North has council saying the 4.5 per cent levy is just too much.
A look at the tax levy was seen earlier this week in council with the municipal end of the tax bill equaling out to around $62.78 for the average residential property.
Mayor Andy Lennox told staff if they can, a drop from the current 4.5 per cent should be looked at.
“i’m wondering if we shouldn’t be reviewing the cost of various vehicle options and what it is we need these vehicles to do. One person in a pickup truck driving around in it is very poor use of resources.” said Lennox.
Currently, the total 2025 budget is $10,635,600. Staff will return to council with a report on how to lower the tax increase at a later date.
