Wellington North council is continuing to usher their support for physician recruitment to the area.
Council heard from Alison Armstrong, the Manager, Communication, Stakeholder Relations and Physician Recruitment from North Wellington Health Care for a request for funding for Community Physician Recruitment Initiatives.
A request for $10,000 was made for the year to be put forward to attract and retain high quality healthcare professionals.
Armstong says the support they’ve received from the township before has made a difference.
“Through Wellington North, you were able to help us make a marketing video which has helped us immensely espesically when trainees are looking at our community. That video is terrific because it gives a little taste of what Mount Forest is like, what Wellington North is like and the physicians. ” said Armstrong.
Councilor Penny Renken made note of the increased population, the efforts for physician recruitment is not going unnoticed as many try to find a doctor within the community.
