The Provincial Government announced 9 Regions that were moving up and down in the colour coded Covid-19 framework.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph wasn’t on the list to move out of the red Covid-19 alert level for at least 1 more week despite case numbers going in the right direction and improving related health indicators.

Health Minister Christine Elliott said at the time of the announcement that recent modelling showed them they must be nimble and put in place additional measures to protection residents and stop the spread of Covid-19.

Variants are a point of concern with the Province as they spread in communities across the province.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph has a case rate of 32.7 per 100,000 in population and a test positivity rate of 1.4%. These would put the Region in the Orange – Restrict level.

Other indicators in the area, including numbers in hospital, would have the region in Green.
