Wellington County to see additional funding to fight human trafficking

Funding will be received over a 2 year period

The Ontario Government has announced funding of just over $160,000 for the Wellington OPP to help in their battle against human trafficking and sexual violence.

The funding was announced yesterday and will be spread over 2 years to aid police in the response and support of victims of human trafficking and sexual violence.

The money is being spent through a larger $2.8 million dollar Community Safety and Policing Grant to help police services combat crime and keep communities safe.

This funding is in addition to the $195 million Ontario already being provided through local and provincial funding of the Community Safety and Policing Grant.
