Wellington County Receives $12 Million in Housing Funding

Wellington County has received $12 million from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to be used for essential housing repairs and upgrades.

The funding has been used utilized since 2023 and continue until 2026 to boost Wellington County’s housing portfolio and focus on accessibility, sustainability and modernization.

In September 2022, CMHC committed $12 million to the county under the Affordable Housing Fund which is part of a broader initiative to support the maintenance and improvement of housing infrastructure across the region.

Since April 2023, CMHC funding has supported the maintenance needs of the County’s owned and operated housing portfolio over 1200 subsidized and affordable housing units in Wellington and Guelph.
