Wellington County OPP have charged two people after an attempted fraud at a home in Fergus on Thursday, March 2nd.
A 20-year-old and 17-year-old resident of Guelph have both been charged with fraud over $5,000.
Both are set to appear in a Guelph court at a later date to answer to the charge.
Police were called to the residence around 1pm to a report of an active fraud.
It was reported that an unknown individual was at the home attempting to collect money to pay a bond/bail for the victim’s grandson.
A second similar report was also received and the investigation continues to examine if there is a connection.
The OPP are asking anyone who has been contacted in a similar manner to contact police or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
