The Wellington County Museum and Archives has opened up its newest playground, next the Heritage Barn.

The design of the playground incorporates ideas from the project team, including staff from the Wellington Place Child Care Centre and the Museum.

The theme of agriculture is integrated to ensure the playground reflects the look and character of the former Poor House Industrial Farm.

Warden Andy Lennox stating in a release thanking the many children who provided their drawings for what the playground should look like.

“The County recognizes the value in inspiring children and providing a dynamic space where kids feel inspired to learn about past, present and future, and this playground is one more addition to that experience,” commented Mary Lloyd, Information, Heritage and Seniors Committee Chair.

The playground is now open for all to enjoy at the Museum, located on Wellington Road 18, between Fergus and Elora.
