Wellington County council could potentially be looking to the future to help handle with the issue of gypsy moths.

Record numbers of the species have been breaking out across central and mid-western Ontario.

The discussion of having an aerial spray for next year was widely discussed. County staff are currently working on a report to bring back to council at a future meeting.

The moth poses as a large pest across the area due to the caterpillars have a large appetite for over 300 trees and shrubs and can leave trees and bushes completely stripped to the point of not growing back.
