Wellington County is moving forward with a one year Automated Speed Enforcement Pilot Program in designated school and community safety zones.
The goal is help curb speeding and increase safety in these areas.
These cameras will be used with other traffic control measures with a focus on education and enforcement with the plan to have these cameras in place early next year.
The ASE cameras run automatically and capture speed violations.
All charges will be reviewed by a Provincial Offences Officer before being issued and if warranted a ticket and a copy of the captured image is sent to the registered owner of the vehicle in 30 days.
