Wellington County has been named a leader in sustainability for 2023 by Call2Recycle Canada.
The Leader Sustainability award is given each year to an organization who displays exceptional commitment to the environment and responsible battery management.
Wellington County collected 11,173 kilograms of batteries through the Call2Recycle program last year making it one of the programs top performing partners.
Stephen O’Neill, Solid Waste Services Committee Chair says its the third year in a row Wellington County has received this prestigious award.
