The federal and provincial government has announced it will be providing 674 homes in Wellington County with access to fast and reliable internet.
This access to better internet comes with the help of a $2.7 million boost in broadband infrastructure for the community. Both levels of government will commit more than $900,000 for the project and create economic and educational opportunists in rural, remote and low serviced areas.
The contract to expand fiber-optic broadband service for Wellington County was awarded by SWIFT, a non-profit corporation initiated by local municipalities to help tackle the connectivity issues in the region.
