If you see a weather balloon over Seaforth there is no need for concern as the University of Waterloo Satellite Design Team takes part in some work in the area.
The design team and UW Orbital are launching the weather balloon from the Seaforth soccer field near Lions Park and the pool carrying a styrofoam box payload with a GoPro camera to record the flight.
The team is hoping with the flight to capture and record the Earth’s curvature and help promote and attract more community members to the University of Waterloo’s space community.
The flight is planned on Saturday at 9am.
