WDG Public Health Making Shift in Vaccine Clinics

Moderna used for 18 and up, Pfizer for 12-17 for this week

 

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health will be seeing a shift in vaccine administration due to delays in shipments.

For the remainder of this week, clinics will be prioritizing Moderna vaccines for adults aged 18 and up.

What remains of the current Pfizer supply will be used for youth aged 12-17. Medical Officer of Health

Dr. Nicola Mercer says this does pose a challenge but must continue to vaccinate as many as they can, assuring if its Moderna or Pfizer for their first or second dose, it will be safe and effective.
