The principal for Walkerton District Community School has written a statement after the passing of four students and a teacher.
Roselyn Clancy says the grief felt by students and staff is immeasurable, the school which was filled with laughter and energy now carries a deep sense of loss and despair.
In response to the tragedy their crisis response team has been at the school to support students, staff and families offering grief counseling services and having a space for the community to come together for support.
Clancy adds they are extremely grateful for the outpouring of love and support received over the last week from neighbouring counties, the province and beyond.
