Local riding’s for the coming election are in full swing as candidates hang signs and tour across the area.
This includes Wayne Baker, representing the Peoples Party of Canada within Perth-Wellington. Baker, has lived in Arthur and been an active member of the community since 2015.
Baker while looking for signatures of support across the community such as wanting to have signs or to donate or volunteer found quickly the support he would be able to receive.
Baker says the Peoples Party has a unique approach to the campaign which no other party is talking about.
“It boils down to one word and its freedom. If nothing else over the last 16 months our eyes have been opened to the kinds of abuses of power that can be exercised over the population with little or no recourse. ” said Baker.
While fighting for Canadians, Baker also hopes to look into the issue of housing locally. Rather than saying affordable housing, Baker wants to adopt affordable home ownership and says hard working Canadians deserve to own a home.
“It’s completely inexcusable for hard working people to not have secure housing. Secure housing in the sense of being able to own that housing ”
