For the last month fencing was placed around the Listowel Memorial Arena.
Today going past the old arena Waterloo Demo has started stripping down the walls as demolition on the arena begins. There is no set timeline on how long the process will take but crews are out on weekdays beginning the process.
Council had allocated $240,000.00 in the budget for the demolition, giving the rights to Waterloo Demo with a cost of $183,350.00.
Ideas are still floating as for what will be in place once the arena has been torn down. Public feedback has been provided on a memorial park but has not been officially confirmed to be set up.
