Wellington County OPP have laid vehicle theft changes and weapons charges after an incident on Concession 8 in Wellington North Township.
It was reported that the three occupants were travelling in a vehicle when an altercation occurred which resulted in one of the individuals being assaulted with a weapon and left on the side of the road while other other two fled in the victim’s vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle in the ditch along with one of the suspects and they were arrested.
The second suspect was located a short distance away by the OPP Canine Unit and placed under arrest.
A 36 year old of Cambridge has been charged with possession and assault with a weapon, theft over $5000, failure to comply with an undertaking and driving while prohibited.
A 44 year old of Brockton has been charged with possession and assault with a weapon and theft over $5000.
Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing.
