Vaccine Certificate Program Now in Effect

Proof of vaccination now required to enter certain businesses

Now in effect across the province, all residents will need to show proof of vaccination as well as ID to enter certain businesses.

Ontario’s vaccine certificate program applies to businesses such as indoor dining at bars and restaurants, movie theaters, concerts, sporting events and gyms.

Residents must have a copy of their vaccine status, either a paper copy or digital for your phone. Starting October 22nd, the province will have an enhanced certificate QR scan for your phone.

Certain ID which must be provided can include birth certificates, citizenship cards, drivers licenses or other government issued identification cards such as a health card, Indian Status Card or permanent resident card.

Premier Doug Ford says the program is only temporary and a method to avoid another lockdown.
