Huron Perth Public Health reached capacity for Covid-19 vaccination bookings for eligible residents in 18 hours. The online and phone appointments booking system has been closed for the time being.
They will reopen on Friday at 9 am once more clinic dates have been added.
HPPH requests everyone’s patience and asks that if you are trying to book an appointment please wait until tomorrow when the booking system re-opens.
They ask you do not call your primary care provider or pharmacy for further information. Appointments are only being booked through HPPH.
Appointments bookings began on Wednesday for those 80 years and older and Indigenous adults 55 years and older. They booked 3500 in the previous 18 hours. Demand was expected to be high for the first public appointments and HPPH appreciates the enthusiasm of those eager to receive their Covid-19 vaccination. More clinics will be available.
HPPH reminds the public that vaccinations are only available to eligible groups. Eligible healthcare workers and those connected to long-term care, retirement and congregate setting homes will be contacted directly by a facility or through your employer. There will be enough vaccine for everyone.
Once you are eligible you remain always eligible. There is no chance to miss your chance to be vaccinated as there will be more opportunities.
