The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has hit a record number of elevation points for this years surveying season.

The Field Surveying Team recently wrapped up the work just in time for the holidays collecting information on stream depth, shape and bank heights and measuring the size and shape of bridges and culverts across the watershed.

It was a record high of over 28,000 elevation points across 280 bridges and 1760 stream cross sections since the season started in early June.

The data collected will help determine how much water could flow through a bridge opening during a flood event and how much water a stream can hold before it floods over the banks.
