The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is planning to plant 1700 acres of cover crops across the watershed this fall.
The conservation authority has allocated funded which assists in targeted fields with either winter-killed cover crops like oats or overwintering varieties such as cereal rye.
Funding was provided by the Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk and the Habitat Stewardship Program through Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
